Hold the Holiday Cheer

After church tonight we headed to Uno Pizzeria for dinner. They were playing Christmas music inside the restaurant! I know that Christmas is right around the corner, but I really think we should wait until Thanksgiving is over to start celebrating.

I know, I know...this kind of makes me a hypocrite considering that I have already begun Christmas shopping, but I'm talking outright celebration, not Christmas preparations.

Don't get me wrong, I plan on watching Elf Thursday night on USA (and probably Friday and Saturday night too) and I will put up our Christmas tree a week from tonight, but I just can't do anything until I have eaten my Thanksgiving dinner.

Does this make me a scrooge?

  4. i set the limit at Halloween.
i love christmas music and decorations and dont' mind them starting before Thanksgiving since there's only a few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. everyone has their limit... some people don't even like it at all, now THAT'S a scrooge!

  6. Not at all! I like how the person above me worded it: single file, holidays haha. So true. Except up here our thanksgiving has alreayd ended and today I finally decided to whip out a mini-radio and set it to one of the stations that is constantly christmas music. I think I should put the volume on a super low setting to not bother my co-workers lol.. some of them don't like to celebrate as early as others ;)

  7. No, I totally understand. I admit I've put up some of my decorations already, but its mostly because finals start in two weeks and then I won't have time to. Yesterday the Grinch was on TBS and I was shocked that it was on before even Thanksgiving! C'monnnn

  9. I don't think you are a scrooge at all! I feel the exact same way. If it weren't for the stores motivation to make more money, I might accept it - but I just feel like they are shoving Christmas down my throat.

  10. I feel like this year we started Christmas much earlier. I thought the music didn't start until Thanksgiving but it has been on for weeks!

Thanks for the tip about Elf. Love that movie!
