Fiddleheads

Any curly haired girls out there??

I am the lucky owner of a full head of curly hair. I straighten my hair almost always during the winter months....but now that the humidity season is upon us, it is time to start wearing my hair curly again. I am currently using Aveda be curly in an attempt to tame my tresses, but it just isn't working for me. I am not sure if it is because that is the only product I am using in the "4 step curl perfecting system" or if I need to try something new.

So....let me in on your favorite curly hair products! Tips on shampoos, conditioners, and anything else are all welcome.

  1. I've used Aveda Be Curly and like it... but I LOVE the Fekkai Luscious Curls line.

  2. I LOVE my Curls Rock by TIGI Catwalk. It is a styling product, like a gel/ mouse combo.
I also generally do not like shampoo and conditioners intended for curly hair. I find them weight down my hair and having curly hair and shorter hair means weight is not good.
Good luck finding what works for you!

  3. I've never tried the Aveda line, but someone else mentioned it lately, so I want to try it.

I ran out recently and remembered at CVS, so I picked up Pantene's Smoothing Balm (or something like that) and was pleased with it.

  4. I love the Tousle Me Softly line from Herbal Essences. The mousse works really well, and the level 1 leaves softer curls that look really nice and shiny!

  5. I use the Garnier line of style products. I mix the Fiber Gum Putty with the SLEEK & SHINE
ANTI-HUMIDITY SMOOTHING MILK and distribute w my fingers and add hair spray after... I have very curly thick hair...

  6. I am the proud owner of a curly head of hair too and I think I've mastered how to tame the beast. First of all - I have to switch up hair products every couple of months b/c my hair gets too used to it. Right now I am using a random cream gel and mousse I picked up at Sally's Beauty. Second - I need to use a deep conditioning treatment atleast once a week (currently its some white and blue bottle by Bumble and Bumble). Third - I only shampoo two times a week. Fourth - I use a cream gel first and then mousse - always flipping my head upside to apply the product so it isn't flat on top. I always let my hair airdry. Then I add a teensy bit of flexible hairspray once it has dried a bit.
