I'm a Puppymom...and I'm Crazy

We leave for California bright and early Thursday morning. Our flight isn't actually until 9, but we have to drop Kona off at Dogtopia of Dulles before we embark on our first major trip since our honeymoon. We chose DoD because it is close to the airport, we received great recommendations, they have web cams in the playrooms, it was very clean and the people were super friendly when we visited, and the CEO is on twitter. Okay, that last one was just a nice surprise, but seriously, it does increase their coolness.

This is only the second time we have left her for an extended period of time and I am really freaking out. Will she be okay? Will she eat her food in an unfamiliar place? Will she sleep? Will she forget us? Will the other dogs play nice? And on and on and on.....

I know deep down that she will be okay, but how can I not miss this sweet face!?

  1. Honestly? We do the same thing too! We're always worried about him while we're gone...no matter who's taking care of him we know we just love him the most! :) He's so large too that it takes a LOT of love to keep up with his antics...

  2. You're such a sweet dog mom- It sounds like Kona will have a wonderful time playing with the other pups at DoD! We're always in the market for a new place to board the Monster- and you can't get any better than going by friends and families reviews! We just boarded Sully at a place called Wagsworth Manor (unbelievable!!) Swimming pools and Yappy Hour! We think he may have even had a nicer vacation than us! Oh, the things we do for our furbabies!

  3. Awww...so sweet. I used to worry so much whenever we had to leave Oscar at the Pet Hotel. Ugh. I hated that feeling. Now that we live so close to my in-laws, they always watch him when we're away, and I never worry!

  10. leaving pups in a kennel is always tough but ours always recommended that we leave a blanket or something with our scent on it... just another piece of comfort for your dog.

  12. I think she'll be fine. They like to make us feel guilty, but then they have a blast while we are gone -don't worry. Dogs are so adaptable! Have a wonderful trip!

  13. There is no way you can't miss that darling face, Kona is such a cutie! We used to hate leaving ours when we went out of town, and would call the place to check in. Constantly. Fortunately now we can usually leave Tilly with a relative, and we feel *so* much better when we leave.

Hope your sister's wedding goes well and you have fun Miss Northerner!
